I am looking at a new bike. I don't want a sport bike. But I don't want a loud cruiser. Is there something in between that would still give good performance. i looked at BMW, they have something similar to what I am looking for. There is the VMAX from Yamaha, but I would have to sell my first born to afford. Any other ideas?

I'm not sure if you're into the cruiser styling or not, but you might want to look at a Kawasaki Vulcan. They're very reliable, and have a nice burble from the stock pipes but are not excessively loud. Nice used ones are fairly common.

Personal taste will dictate what you want, if you don't see it yet, wait.

Not all cruisers are loud, but that VMAX may be a sport bike?

The Vmax I think is actually categorized as sport-touring.

I have a Honda Shadow Vt1100 1995. It's a cruiser, but since I haven't modified anything, it's still within factory specifications. This is the first year that Honda made it resemble a Harley. People critisize the bike because it's not a Harley, but I don't think I could affort a Harley and not send my daughter to college.
