1990 Goldwing Relay dies...

I'm posting this for genemccloskey. I don't have a honda and can't answer emails directly. I'm sure someone out there can help though...

Hello, I own a 1990 Honda Goldwing. I am having a major problem with the main relay. The relay dies and my Goldwing is dead in the water. This has happen at least 7 times in the last 2 years. It use to happen every 6 months but now it is happening every couple of weeks.

Do you know what might be the problem or know someone who does know how to correct this problem? I am sick of replacing the relay all the time.

Have you had the dealer check for a recall or eratta sheet for this problem? I'm guessing here, but it sounds like the breaker is actually under rated and wears out early due to heat.

Hopefully someone else has a clue.
