I don't know for sure about the Spirit, but on my 96 ACE the tool kit is stowed behind the right side cover below the seat, mine has a key lock that opens with the ignition key. Jim RIDE ON

I have a VT1100 Shadow and as the previouse post mentions, mine has two storage compartments to the right side cover and left side cover. On the right it holds the battery and OEM tool bag. On the left is room for the registration and owner's manual. If you needed more storage you could probably get a cheapy handle bar bag on ebay.

Yes gentleman, thank you for your information and taking the time to do so......I have taken everything off I could and to no avail did I find one. However, I guess I will just go with the handle bar bag.......Look like a mean biker guy that way (black leather and rhinestones) ha ha.......

I, too, have a Spirit 750 (2005). My bike has small cubby behind the left side cover (which just pulls off). Inside is just enough room for the owner's manual and a small factory toolkit.
Ride safe!

I took my owners manual out. Why do you need it when you ride? Bike don't start ... Tow it home, simple!

Make sure to get the side cover exactly snapped back in place. Most of them are very tricky to do. The '96 Shadow has three fingers across the top and two bullit gromet snaps. They are plenty expensive enough to go back looking for if the wind blows them off. Chances are the side covers would be sold to a pawn shop.

Honda's tool pouch has never been deep enough or big enough to carry any serious tools. The OEM tools are very easy to break. It isn't very good steel. The screw driver rounds off and rounds off screws it is used on. They are too long unless broken down. One tool pouch had two handles and no screw driver bit. The tool box latch is not a lock, anything fits it.

If I see a kid stealing from FX's bike I'll tell him it will be hard to use that cell phone with all his fingers, thumbs and arms broken.

Note to self: Lock the cell phone keypad in case motorcycle is stolen.
