Do you fly as often since 9/11?

It seems every time I pick up a Newspaper I see another story about an airline in trouble and asking employees for concessions.
I was just wondering if people here have changed their flying habits since 9/11?
Myself, I recently drove to a business meeting rather then flying because it was less hassle. I still fly when I have to, kind of hard to drive to Italy :) , but I have chosen twice this year to drive to meetings rather then enduring the long lines and intrusive searches.
Just wondering how others were feeling.

Airlines are always in trouble. That's how they get the corporate welfare.

9/11 never changed my travel plans. If I go somewhere over a 4 hour drive, I'd rather fly. But motorcycle rides are exempt from this rule.

I haven't flown since 9/11, but that's not because I'm afraid to fly... it's because I haven't had anywhere to go that necessitated the hassle. My rule for personal trips has always been that if I can drive it in eight hours or less, I'm driving. Otherwise I fly. After all of the hassles imposed after 9/11 I've extended the drive time limits somewhat. I can be in Columbus Ohio in 6 hours and Tampa FL in 8, New Orleans in 7. I've always hated the hassles of flying, and from what I hear now it's even worse.

Pretty much everything east of the Mississippi River is within my driving range now.

I used to work for a company that would stick me on an airplane for every trip I had to go on. If I had to go to an installation in Knoxville, I'd have to drive to Atlanta and get on an airplane and fly to Knoxville... but I live almost half way between Atlanta and Knoxville. By the time I drove to the airport, drove around endlessly looking for a parking space, walked from the parking lot to the terminal, checked my bags, then waited for the bags at the destination, stood in line for the rental car, etc. it would take me three times as long to get to my customer in Knoxville than it would have taken if I had just drove. I learned to hate flying.

That's my sentiment exactly. If I can drive it in a reasonable time I much prefer to drive.
