I have 2004 Shadow 600. While riding it just dies. Horn and lights still work and fuses are good, but the starter will not turn over. When you hit the starter button it will dim the lights but nothing from the starter. By the time I put on a trailer and get it home it starts again. I am wondering if anyone else has had a problem like this or has any input on the problem. We are thinking it could be the kill switch or the safety switch for the kick stand. Anybody have any ideas.

I had a similar problem with my Sportster. It was driving me crazy because it was intermittent and just like you the lights and horn would work.
It was the battery cable. The cable was a little loose and it didn't effect the lights and horn but the draw from the starter would cause the problem.
I tightened the connections and never a problem since.

Thanks so much, since the horn and lights were working never even thought of that
