Does anyone know if a 02 star 650 can be bored out? And how big can it be bored out safely? Would it make any difference? Or would it be better to get a custom S&S motor, what size would fit in a 02 650 frame? I thought it may be able to be bored out to a 750 but thinking it was too much, would takeing it to a 700 just maybe upping it 50cc's give it a little more punch. Its alright now in power, though I am waiting on my jet kit to get in on order to see what diffrence that will make. But as it is now I am already getting use to the power and sometimes feels slow. I have a hyper charge, cobra drag pipes and a jet kit soon. What else could I do within reasonable price to up the power? I have seen a barons pak? on phatperformance.com website with I think carbs to replace stock, would that make a difference? Sorry for the long post just bored and got thinking about mods to do to my cruiser.
TIA

Man, I'm lost on the metric motors. I don't even know the bore and stroke, much less what oversized pistons are made. Maybe you can check with the Yam dealer and see what they have to say if nobody here pipes up soon.

Looking around the net I saw a few big bore kits for Yamaha 650's but none so far for that model . Check with Wiseco, or JE for pistons , a machinist can bore the cylinders, a common thing on other bikes.

Are you talking about a Yammie, 650 or what? I have one and the best info I have is that it can't be bored out. It is already a 535 Virago that has been bored out.
