I thought I would stop by and see what the board is like. I live in Northwest Iowa. I've got a lot of miles on two wheels in both the U.S. and Europe. My current rides are an '04 VTX 1300C and a '77 GS 750B. I love to ride. If I need a loaf of bread, instead of riding a mile to the closest store, I'll ride 60 to get it in the city. I've got a lot of trips planned this summer. Maybe I'll see you on the road. Remember, it's not the destination that's important, it's the ride.

I was wondering if personal avatars will be allowed eventually and if the white print on a light background can be changed to make it easier to read.

Welcome aboard , how do you like your VTX ? For a metric , they seem pretty nice.
What's the gas mileage , I now the 1800's are pretty thirsty.

Take care , ride safe

What browser are you using? The TEXT is Black and the background is a shade of Grey. The site relies 100% on CSS to render the colors and formatting. If your browser is old you may not see things exactly right.

The site is 100% certified w3c code as well and Internet Explorer is not. Sometimes IE does not render correctly or load all the images correctly. This is happening internet wide and is not an isolated problem.

We recomend using the Mozilla browser or the Mozilla Firebird Browser until Microsoft gets it right.

Custom Avatars are reserved for Premium Members. While the site is free to use, there are expenses. Those that contribute have some more features, custom avatars being one of them.

Thanks for joining and welcome.

Thanks for the welcome. I get a minimum of 45 miles per gallon. The more cops there are on the road, the better my mileage gets. :bike: I'm pretty happy with the bike. I bought it new July 17 2003 and put it up for the winter the second week of November. I put it back on the road March 19th of this year. I've got 7691 miles on it now and I expect to at least double that before winter sets in again.

I am starting to get a few problems. The text for me in some places is white on a really light purplish color. Haven't had any problems with pictures yet. I'm running IE 5.5 SP1. I'm also on Windows 95. I should buy a new computer, but I'd rather spend the bucks on motorcycles and riding. I'll just continue to highlight the text in order to be able to read it. Thanks for the welcome and the info.

I thought 5.5 rendered CSS correctly, but perhaps it doesn't always. This is a big download, but it's IE and should fix your problem should you be able to install it. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/default.asp

For those of you looking for a new and current standards complient browser we highly recomend Mozilla Firefox. http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

Thanks for the link smeg. I appreciate the effort. Windows 98 is the oldest OS supported, so I'm SOOL with Windows 95. Eventually I break down and buy a new system. I can live with what I've got for now though. To many chrome things I want to buy for my bike. :)
