I'm going to look at this bike tomarrow night. And was curious on your thoughts about it. It would be my first bike. From what I've seen in the ad, and talking to the guy, it SEEMS in good shape. I'll know a lot more tomarrow night of course. At 5'3" I dont know if I'll be tall enough for it. Only time will tell. Thanks much.

Tegan,

Sorry, just saw this today. I just bought a 1981 Yamaha XJ550 Maxim this Summer and am very pleased with it. I picked it up with only 8,200 miles on it and paid $1K. The previous owner was very meticulous with this bike and there are only a few spots of rust here and there. Riding is solid. These bikes seem to have a reputation for being built to last. As far as height goes, I'm 5'9" and sit on the bike comfortably, but it would be nice if it was a few inches shorter. The only problem I had was with starting the bike up after that week-long rain storm this fall. My bike was parked on the street with the cover on.

Anyway, good luck.

A
