i have a 92 kawasaki ninja zx600R .. the other day i was kinda riding it hard.. it only has 7000 miles on it.. i was doing alot of wheeles and such.. i didnt look at my temp at all but i never saw it go to high.. well anyway i stoped to talk to someone and when i left i kinda messed up on the clutch and it shut off.. no big deal... so i re-started it and it sounded really weird.. i had no power to.. i figured i messed a plug... so i replaced all of them.. that was not it.. i looked at my antifreze and it looked like i had oil in and and i drained my oil and it looked like a milkshake.. so the plugs wernt the problem... i pulled the engine out of the bike and now i need to fix it,. i thought it may be the head gasket.. looked at it and it looked ok.. the metal did.. the rubber stuff was a mess.. some on the gasket .. some on the engine..some on the head.. so i went deeper and looked at the gasket between the crank case and block.. looked the same??? can they bebad without knowing? how would my antifreeze be brown? then i looked and on the two center cylinder heads the bottom valves were black and the top ones were clean.. the outter two looked black on all four valves.. the right one was really bad.. all over black.. i inspected the rings and cylinder walls all looked ok.. any idea what it could be? thanks ALOT

Well I`m just guessing here but if your oil looks milky and the water has oil in it :bonk: and the gaskets look ok??? Maybe the head is cracked from port to port? Can you see where water has been washing between cylinders?? I would call a dealer and explain your problem. maybe it needs magnafluxed to find the crack? Again just guessing but it don`t sound good :( Good Luck!

Let's see a combo. of water in the oil and oil in the water is never good usually the first problem is a blown head gasket, or even possibley a warped head and such other things on those same lines. I would definately take it to a Muh-can-Ik. and chances are, you are going to be digging into your pocketts fairly deep on this one wich always sucks.
The best idea that comes to mind since that has been sacrificed to the Rice Gods is to let it R.I.P. and go to your Local Harley Shop and buy a new or used American Made Scoot. I think you would be much happier hell even try out a Buell if ya like the Crotch Rockett thing.

Ride Safe and watch the idiots that don't seem to see you.

Dude, you toasted your motor. Period. If you ride the hell out of something, stay on top of the maintenance. If you don’t take care of the ride, the ride will not take of you.( I learn this the hard way) Take it to a wrench that you know and TRUST, and have him give you a price for your rebuild. Hold on to your wallet, cause it ain’t gonna be cheap. If you don't have the $, buy the shop book and have some fun since your motor is already dead.

I agree with the previous posts. To quote Dr. McCoy on the old Star Trek series: "It's Dead, Jim."

You have only a very slight chance of an affordable rebuild on this project. It might actually be cheaper to go with a used complete replacement engine.

Like Mr. J. said, seek out a mech you can trust on this project, and good luck.

You have it apart, take the head to a machine shop and have it Magnafluxed as said above. That is cheap to check. Make sure your cylinders still have a cross-hatch. If you do not know exactly what you are looking for, you still could have had a blown headgasket. Don't just chuck an engine without a few inexpensive tests.

When you are hard on anything, maintenance is even more key and intervals should be cut by 50-70 percent. The posted schedules by the OEM are set by tests in an air-conditioned factory under simulated "Normal" riding conditions and NO Dirt. Ambient air has silica particles in it (Dirt)
