Daytona trying to save face?

I think this is pure bullshit. They are gonna campaign to bring bikers to Daytona and to me it looks like they are saying it's ok to come over and be loud and drink. But on the other hand we know that they have to pay for those ads. What makes the revenue that pays the extra police and ads? Tickets!

They are talking out of both sides of their mouth. They want the new guy that will trailer his new bike to a hotel and spend money, not the guy that builds a bike and rides it in just for a beer. This is why this rider has not been to a Daytona event sine 1993.

Here's another report with more info... They have yet to say they are putting away the ticket books. http://www.sptimes.com/2004/06/13/State/Daytona_Beach_woos_bi.shtml

They seem to try to minimize the ticket by saying it's $44.00, but they fail to point out that you may have to install a proper muffler system too, about $500.00. Anyone know if this is the case?

Up to 60 days in jail for reving your motor while stationary? Wow that place sounds like alot of fun for bikers. Just leave your bike on the trailer I guess. :finger:

the ONLY thing better about Daytona's bike week than Myrtle or even Sturgis...is the Daytona 200.

If they stopped having the 200 I wouldnt ever be interested in going again.
