Cold Ride this morning........................

Got up at 5am and checked outside. Thermometer said 29 degrees. That's a tad cold. But then again it is supposed to be in the 60's by later this afternoon. Got ready for work, got my little guy ready for work and out the door to the Lincoln we headed. Dropped him off at grandma's house, she takes him to school and picks him up. Got 1/2 block form grandma's and damn if the Ultra did not start calling my name. Not being one who likes to dissappoint a lady, I turned around and headed back to the house. Put on a heavier jacket and fired her up. It was a little cold, but it just seems as if when you are really into a ride, there comes a point in the ride when the warm and fuzzies makes you not feel the cold anymore. About two miles into the ride, that is exactly the place where I was at. It was still cold out, but I was all warm and comfy heading up the interstate. I guess that this means that the official start of my riding season has begun. I have a new bike, some new friends, (hoping to make many more), and a really nice new place to hang out with some really nice people who have similar views and interests. Life is good. And I just stepped outside and it is sixty degrees out and the sun is shining bright. I believe that the 28 mile ride home may just turn into a small 50 mile side trip. Like I said, Life is Good.

That is a great thing. Gald to hear you are back riding this season.

We don't see 29 here often, but we did one new year while riding. We had fun and had the roads to ourselves. It was great!

How was the ride home?

Glad you got out and rode. Hope the warm weather sticks around for you. I don't think I could stand not being able to ride for a few months every year.:moped:

I have a great life. I learned to take things slow and enjoy the scenery. I am trying to look at life through the eyes of my five year old son. I spent the last ten years working 70 + hours a week, and I don't have to do that anymore. So now I work my 40 and play the other 30.

A proper balance leads to a damn good life. Enjoy the kid more then the job and you have your priorities straight. :)

Technically I don't even work 40 hours per week, but I have to tack a few hours on to that for "recovery time". (Those damn kids.)

A good blance in life sure does make it more pleasant, but often times finding that balance is a hard thing to do. Glad you can pull it off!!!

My ride home is my recovery time. As far as balance goes, it's just a matter of figuring out what is work time and what is play time. I did not always know the difference. And some times I do have a tendency to slip back into my old ways. But all I have to do is have my little guy ask to go for a ride, or for that matter, anyone ask to go for a ride and I realize that all of the work stuff will still be there tomorrow.

I have a job that I like for once in my life that pays the bills and allows me to get some really nice toys. Early next year a new house is in the cards, and hopefully another Harley. Good things come to those who wait, and I think that I waited long enough.
