Anyone out there have a clue what Harley Davidson charges to install a stage one kit, dyno jet kit and Vance and hines pipes? I purchased all of it from them a bit at a time as I could afford. When i asked them about install they say 70 dollars an hour. I would like a better est. Thanks all!

I would just do it myself....if you are at all mechanically inclined..it would be no problem!
Professional installation takes time. The only time I've seen accessories bolted on for free was at the time of purchasing a new bike.

After rereading my post I think I may have sounded misleading. I would be a fool to think Harley would do anything for free..lol What I was trying to say was, Has anyone had this work done and if so what was the cost. Them telling me 70 an hour does not tell me the total cost is all. Doing myself would be ok but to rejet the carb and not be able to dyno test is not something I want to get into. But again I am only looking for a good guess-tamate. Harley and free are never spoken together.

I, like many other bikers that don't have unlimited funds like to have a better estimate, like you. The shop rate quoted x the kours to accomplish the job = the final bill. I tired quickly of them quoting me $150.00 and getting a bill for almost $300. I finally went to the service manager and told him I wanted an accurate estimate and they could not charge me more unless they got my approval first. If they try to "high-ball" the estimate, find yourself a better shop. There are reputable shops that are willing to work with you and keep you as a customer. Try that first, if it doesn't work, do the work yourself. None of the stuff you are talking about requires any special tools, other than maybe a good torque wrench. The issue of rejetting, there are plenty of guys out there that have installed those pipes on Harleys. Just ask around. You can get it close, and when you have the extra bucks for a dyno tune, go for it.

A dyno tune would be great....but I feel that you get more accurate results doing ole fashioned "plug chops" to get your jetting dialed in.
The pipe you buy combined with the stage kit...adding the elevation you do most of your riding at, will give you a pretty good feeling of where you need to start out with jetting.
If your combination requires such a drastic change in jet size that you need to drill and retap the jet threads....I would just buy a new carb that is already fitted to your needs.....thus saving you money in the long run.
goodluck!
ask the service mgr. at the shop to consult the flat - rate manual . that will give a real good idea as to how long it should take to complete each task..
