Wow, I didn't think about it. I haven't seen a thing about Cinco De Mayo in the Tampa area. I really wonder if the beer companies are hold off because of the illegal immigration thing? Working for Budweiser in the past, we never pass on a drinking holiday. Pepsi (who I work for now) is pushing Superman. Maybe that's why I didn't think about it.

I haven't seen any promotions up here either. Hmmmm. I know that everyone I work with will be headed to the Mexican restaurant on May 5th but we head there every Friday so it's not like it's anything special. I pass the resturant in the morning. I'll have to look and see if they are doing anything.
Now that you mention it, I haven't seen much advertising up here ether. :idunno:
I also never even thought about it but I have not noticed any ads on TV or Radio for anything.

Nobody making a big deal on it in Nashville either ..... ahhh , politics !
Well, we are making a big deal of it today at 3:12 p.m. We are going to the Mexican restaurant about a 1/4 mile from school and drinking Coronas. Of course, we drink there every Friday but it's nice to pretend we have a reason today.
Well . . . Cinco de Mayo was rather fun. Nobody made a big deal about it but we had half price Coronas and tequila so we were all happy. (You wanna party . . . then hang out with a bunch of special education teachers. They'll show you what partying really is. The only thing that can top them is domestic violence shelter workers. Now that is a DANGEROUS crowd.)
I'm tired. I still haven't recovered from Leesburg.

Well of course not everyone knows that Cinco de Mayo is to Mexicans what the Fourth of July is to Americans. It's their independence day. ...the day that Benito Juarez and his ragtag rebel bunch declared independence from Spain or something like that. But there wasn't a whole lot of celebrating around here either. Maybe it's because the local Latino populace is not feeling all that independent.
