Hi,I have a VT800C with a power problem,when I am cruising I need to keep
the bike over 2500 rpm in 2nd gear and in 3rd gear.If I go under and try to
pass a vehicle it starts to missfire and I have to go to a lower gear.I have
changed the spark plugs, tested with other coils and still yhe same problem.
I can feel like the cilinders are not working in harmony.Need help, this problem
is driving me crazy.I am an automotive technician not on bikes.

Is usually caused by a vacumn issue. I would start checking for intake side vacumn leaks and then move forward from there.

Might want to check your fuel filter too. ii the vaccum or filter arent the problem, you might have a clogged pilot or main jet. What year is your 800?

It's a 1988 Shadow.
