3-year-old rider’s passion is hogging up his summertime

He could be a miniature Steve McQueen out there – riding a motorcycle down a sloping hill and across a grassy expanse.

But Nicholas Hunt is far too young to know about the famous movie scene in which McQueen’s character jumps a fence on a motorcycle and races across grassy fields in “The Great Escape.”

Instead, 3-year-old Nicholas is living a real adventure, riding his blue-and-white PW-50 Yamaha across his big back yard, oblivious to old movie scenes and almost everything else because of the fun he’s having.

That’s right – he’s 3. Well, 3 1/2 , and he’s been riding – without training wheels – since the end of June.

It all started when Santa Claus brought the blond-haired boy the PW-50 for Christmas in 2002. Nicholas had just turned 2 on Dec. 9 that year and was already in love with motorcycles. His mom, Nicole, says he got probably 15 toy motorcycles that Christmas.
