Installed V&H Shortshots on my '07 650 Classic today, replaced the main jets with Dynojet 106's, performed the RamAirKit mod on the stock air cleaner, still using the paper air filter but put one #4 washer on each of the stock carb needles and the above 40 mph performance increase is really noticible, feels like a much larger engine. Cruised solo at 70 mph on 1/4 throttle. Best 325 bucks I ever spent on a bike.

Great news. $325.00 to hot rod a motorcycle is a real deal.

Enjoy the ride!

$325.00 on my Harley gets me spark plugs and an oil change.

I do all of my own maintenance also. My point was that to do the same things to my Harley would have been quite a bit more.

hey betabilly, what bike is that? that the 650 star? Did you have problems with the heat shield being too short?

Yeah, once I got the rear pipe bolted to the head, I found that in order to get the upper end of the heat shield centered over the header pipe, there was about 3/8 inch exhaust pipe sticking out beyond the shield. Nothing I can do about that so I mounted the front pipe accordingly so the ends match.
