I promise this year to not get locked in a car lot parking lot with Jimmy Crain.

I think you need to be telling Jim's wife that, not us. :D

I posted this over in the other "official" meet and greet thread, but thought I'd throw it out here in case anybody missed it.

We need to book a block of rooms somewhere close to Art's place so we don't have to drive back to Daytona after the party. Even a campground if that's all we can get. Last year everything was booked up by the first of the year, so we need to think about it NOW.

I'm up for one room (night of the party only). Three adults, and I'll share floor space. Pipe up if you need a room, and if somebody in the area will kindly volunteer to find these rooms for us then that would be awesome.

I would tell JR to do it but then we'd end up at one of those "by the hour" places.

Ha ha ha. Well, if you had FX do it it would have rates per minute.

Well then it looks like we'll have to depend on you, doesn't it?

OK, Bigwater. Jrbooe is on it for us.

I really don't care if it's by the hour to be honest with you. Last year I slept under a tree in the parking lot at Art's for three hours to sober up before I rode back to Daytona. That would work again if it had to, but I'd rather have an actual bed.

Hey Bigwater, if you have a tnet there is DeLeon Springs State park up the road. It would be cheaper than a motel. I will look around to see what I can find you.

I don't have a problem with the state park. Last year it was booked solid though. I'm bringing down my vendor trailer for this event, and hope to have built a fold up bed in it by then. I don't want to sleep in it all week, but one night won't kill me.

So you would want it for just the one night then?

Yeah, that's the plan. Ricky can assist me in changing my mind if he has other ideas, but the plan working in my mind is that we go to Daytona Beach for the week and stay at a hotel there... probably in Ormond Beach at the same place we stayed last year... or at some flea bag hotel Rick has in mind right on the strip in Daytona Beach within falling distance of all the action. We'll check out of there Saturday morning and drive to DeLeon Springs and check into another hotel over there. Check out of there Sunday morning and head north. I definately don't want to stay in DeLeon Springs all week.

No more campsites at Deleon Springs State Park, they quit having camping there.

"Was" being the keyword indicating both of you were in the van and out of the drivers seat?
