Why did my post get deleted with no reason?
Deleted postbudlight 10-18-2006, 02:36 PM Why did my post get deleted with no reason? bigwater 10-18-2006, 04:05 PM Why did my post get deleted with no reason? It wasn't for no reason. The boss doesn't like it when people join up and use their very first post to advertise another site. He considers it spam, and as such he deleted it. Now, if you want to participate in the forums here for awhile and become a member of the community, after a while your posting of links to your site will become acceptable. Get involved in the discussions on the board, and work your way into it. We take spamming from friends a little better than we do from people we don't know... get my drift? Welcome to RiderInfo, and I hope you stick around. I'm sure you'll make fast friends here and once you've got a few posts we'll talk about your site. budlight 10-18-2006, 04:23 PM It wasn't for no reason. Ok there were 2 replies to that thread, and there've only been 4 threads talked in on this board all day. Obviously it was something more likely to spark debate than half the other threads on here. bigwater 10-18-2006, 04:54 PM Sorry that it happened this way, and even sorrier that you are taking offense to it... but rules is rules. If you knew how many times a day we have to delete posts from somebody who joins, spams the board, and leaves never to be seen again you'd be amazed. If we left every post out there just in case it wasn't spam, there'd be thousands of spam posts to have to weed through to get to the good stuff. The administrator makes the rules, the moderators just follow them. In this case several of the mods didn't feel it was spam, but the administrator did, so he enforced the rules himself. Now maybe a personal plea to the administrator would get the thread reinstated as it would show that you are at least interested in the board enough to figure out who the administrator is. Your call. LEWY 10-19-2006, 02:07 PM C'mon budlight, CHILL, Tell us about yourself. Theres no info in your profile. thebighop 10-20-2006, 11:46 AM Hey Bud...I responded to your post, first as a welcome to the site and second to mention that I believe your site has potential...But... I side with the admin and mods....I'm pretty new here myself, but I don't come here advertising for my cause aside from my home page listed in my profile. You haven't indictaed that you even exist aside from a user name... Join in and get to know a few of us and let us get to know you, thenI am sure once the feathers are all smoothed out again, your site might be discussed and helped out some....:donthate: :2cents: jrbooe 10-20-2006, 11:50 AM Bud, I agree with Hoppie. It would have made a substantial difference if your first post would not have been to promote another forum. I did look at your site and it has a lot of information. However, most of us here like to see a few posts from members before they try to promote another site. We are one big happy family here. Sorry if we ruffled any feathers but you have to understand where we are all coming from. |
