Ron :beermug: Attilio 09-03-2004, 09:28 PM Damn thing is moving so slow. I have only been locked up in the house for 5 hours and I am already stir crazy. It is not the hurricane I worry about, it's how out of control people can become over buying last minute supplies like wood. Stores can be deadly. One good thing, the house and yard are cleaner then they have been in a long time! panheader 09-05-2004, 06:21 AM I have 2 sisters in Hollywood and 1 in West Palm. Their phone lines were still up as of last night (Saturday) but they had no power. Looked like West Palm was going to be a direct hit then. My one sis said there was a shortage of plywood and her neighbor had to put a section of wood fence over his window cause that's all he could find. Here's hoping that all my old friends down there make it thru this ok, as well as my new friends here on this forum. LOADED 09-06-2004, 07:18 PM Ok smeg are you alright down there saw on the news that they were a lot of damage. Ron :cow: MissGradenko 09-06-2004, 09:50 PM Hey Smeg, as soon as you are able, let your sister know you and the family are fine. From what I saw, it's more like you suffering a big pain the a**, but no power would drive me nuts! I would need at least music. Let me know soon. As for everyone else affected, I hope you are all doing well and damage was to a minimum. Love you.... K. xoxoxoxo Attilio 09-11-2004, 11:33 PM Eight days of no power! Damn I miss a cold beer. FX 09-12-2004, 11:25 AM Eight days of no power! Damn I miss a cold beer. Bummer, we were out from Sat to Tues. We had Running water the whole time. The place was a mess but we didn't get any major damage. P.S. Hey Ivan, go west young man! Springerick 09-14-2004, 07:07 PM We made it with very little dammage. Lots of tree limbs down. Had to ride the chainsaw to get out of the driveway. But 5 days no power was not fun at all. You don't know how much you depend on it untill its gone.I used to like camping but not this time of year.Wow was it hot. Thanks power guys for fixenit. Ivan go west an die . Next up Jennie. When can i take down the boards to look out the window? __________________________________:beermug:  panheader 09-15-2004, 10:41 PM I know what you guys are saying when you talk about no power. I was in that northeast power grid blackout a year ago that affected 3 or 4 states and ontario. We were out for about 4 days except for short bursts of power just as a teaser. The driving was the worst part, with the traffic lights not working. One thing really lucky though, that afternoon I got off work, went to the bank machine and got some cash, and when I walked outside I noticed the light at the corner not working. Must have gone out right after I got my bread. The banks were closed and the machines not working for almost a week after that. Springerick 10-10-2004, 10:41 AM Hey thats cool the way the radar display keeps changing . Not Meaning any harm to any body else but I hope somebody else gets all the storms for a change. I have lived in fla for 38years I have seen a few storms Maybe 8 or 6 over that time span but what a pounding central florida took this year. The only good thing that all this weather has done is put some water back into the ground but we still have a lot of fludding around the low spots in the county but it is going to crest on the 11 or 12th this month. Hope it is all over for now time to get ready for next year. |
