DaddoCFL 03-16-2007, 03:01 PM I have duplicated your post in the Motorcycling Florida Style forum to try to get some additional exposure for the event.
Thanks Daddo. We appreciate the support.
flarocker 03-17-2007, 08:33 AM Awesome job Greg.
We need someone to get a copy of the flyer to the Roadside Lounge. If anyone can help with that we'd be grateful.
It'll be a couple of days before I can get there.
Thanks
I will print a couple out and try and get it there plus I will give one to Joe at Gator HD. He is the bartender there on Wed and Sat nights.
Thanks tugs. Bring some when you go to watch the race at your favorite bar too.

Ok, the original flyers went out with just the name and no band affilation. I got that info at Crossroads. I'll undo it.
Thanks for stopping by Eric.
I dropped off some fliers at the Roadside today. The Bartender said that she will make sure that they get put up on the doors and other places. They also have put out a jar for donations. It is nice to see a business that cares. She was very grateful for the fliers.
Thanks Tugs. The folks I talked to on the phone at the Roadside Lounge were very nice.
Hope to see everyone there to support Jeremy.
I went to the Crossroads Inn last night for a cold one. They are ready for us and will have motorcycle parking set aside. They put up the flyers in the windows in great spots. Good coverage.
Many people want a non alcoholic drink on a run, so they will have soda pop and water for sale for those that don't care for beer.
Gumbo and company made it out to the Dam Pub and put out some flyers. They also handed some out in other places.
Things look good so far on getting the word out. Great job folks!
Thanks
jrbooe 03-23-2007, 06:04 AM Hey, I may have another commitment Saturday. Earl Ackerman is going to handle the scores at the Roadside, I know I will definitely not make the Dam Pub. Can I get some volunteers to handle the scorecards at some of the other stops on the run? I have the score cards printed up and I am buying the dice today. Earl will have the scorecards with him at the Roadside so whomever is handling the other stops can get the dice and scorecards from him.
Here is what we have so far. We have been working with Bad Apple Bob and talking to Jrbooe.
Jay has Earl working the Roadside Inn in the AM start the Run.
BadApple Bob is working on someone to man the Dam Pub.
I will be at the Crossroads Inn.
Bad Apple Bob is working on someone to man the County Line Bar. Perhaps a COBB member will help I was told. I don't know for sure.
Fox Crossing is covered. I don't know the details, but everyone will be there.
The food is being provided by the great folks at the Fox Crossing, thanks Janet!
Gumbo is going to cook the food. The food will be available by donation per plate.
This sounds like a great run. I have been to all of the stops (except the Crossroads maybe, brain fart????). We have always found all of these places to be very biker friendly and have always had a great time there.
I hope to see some of riderinfo.com members out on the ride. If you see a Black Geezer Glide with a AMERICAN FLAG on the back come on over and say HI.
Ride Safe,
Tugs
It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that I must bring you the news of Earl Ackerman’s untimely death. Earl was riding his motorcycle last night and I'm told he was run over allegedly by a car that ran a red light. Ironically the same way his wife was killed on a motorcycle just a year or two ago.
Details are sketchy at this time, but we will be making a formal announcement and planning a memorial ride for Earl.
Rest in Peace Earl, you will be missed.
Jay will be covering the Roadside Lounge for Jeremy's run as a result of this tragedy.
EDIT:
Here is a link to a newspaper article on the wreck. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/lake/orl-bk-eustisbike0324,0,3693235.story?coll=orl-home-headlines
Ricky RoadKing 03-24-2007, 07:02 PM I got the chance to ride w/ Earl and Aja before the Meet-n-Greet. I am very saddened by his passing. I wish I had the chance to know him better; he seemed like a very cool dude.
jrbooe 03-24-2007, 07:16 PM FX, It is with even heavier heart that i had to make that announcement to you today as this afternoon I remembered the last thing I said to Earl as we were leaving the shop yesterday. He was joking about my rice burner and I jokingly said the rice burner will still be running when his bagger crashes and burns. Now, that being said. Earl would not want us, nor would he expect us to be in mourning. Earl mentioned recently he was ready to go home to Barbara. He is back with his beloved and I am sure they are making up for lost time. Yes he will be missed but in Earl's memory we are going to make a run for him to benefit his daughter Sam, the likes of which no one has seen in our area in a long time. If by a slim chance I am not able to work the Roadside, Bubba said he would work the first stop, the Roadside. Now, let's not cry for Earl but remember all the good times we all had together.
jrbooe 03-25-2007, 04:37 PM I was just informed of something which may have a major bearing on this run. The viewing for Earl Ackerman is Saturday 6pm, his funeral is shceduled for the 1st of April. Being this run is the day of the viewing there are going to be many people not interested in riding. The Bad Apple Band, out of respect for Earl will appear at his viewing. Unless we can drop a bar and start at The Crossroads earlier and end at the Fox by Noon and the bands could play for 4 hours and let everyone prepare for Earl's viewing by 4pm, move the run to Sunday, or another date. The fact remains, there will be very few local riders in the mood to make a run the day of Earl's viewing.
Any Suggestions? My gut tells me to postpone or cancel this run. Janet has sold the Fox Crossing and next Saturday is her last day as owner, so that sucks even more.
