Can they, or should they, really be going as fast as you take them? Are they in good condition? No Dry rot, inflated properly? Are they the proper speed rating and load rating?
Take a look at these charts, you'll be better informed when you go for that new replacement tire.

I've got a 130/90 H rated tire which is tested at 130MPH and Stress tested to 210. It can hold a load of up to 805 Lbs. I know my replacement tire exceeds generously any load and speed condition I'll put it under.
