I was depressed last night so called Lifeline.

Got a call center in Pakistan.

I told them I was suicidal.

They got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck.

The use of depression as a joke is not funny to some people, myself included, but I do recognize the fun intended. This item came to me on the 3rd aniversery of my oldest sons death from suicide do to depression. My wife has major depression bouts and my only other son also is bothered by it. Sorry to be a wet blanket on issue but you can understand my position. Depression is a very bad situation, and if you know anybody who has the problem urge them to get help before it is to late!

Jim, I'm sorry that this brought up bad memories for you. It was intended with a lighthearted vein I'm sure. If you would prefer that it go away, just let us know. Sometimes funny isn't so funny, and if it affects our membership it can easily be moved to a more appropriate forum.

No problem Big. we have learned to deal with the matter. Just hope that if someone on the fourm knows of a person with the problem that they will help them to get professional help with the disease. My son was a highly respected Radiologist and his office partners had no idea he was having any problem,he hid it very well. Myself I missed picking up just how bad he was and I have had a lot of experience detecting it with my wife over the years, when I notice she is going down into a bout I keep reminding her to keep up with the medication and she her Dr.
As I said b4 the joke was meant as a funny but it happened to catch me at a bad time.
I appreciate your response. Keep up good work, really enjoy the fourm.

Sorry JimBear... It was intended as a joke. I'm very sorry to hear about your son. I'll try to be more sensitive to issues like this in the future.

Believe me, I have no fascination with Ricky's nipples other than to keep them away from me.

I really should not have commented as I did to the joke. It just caught me at a bad time. I did pass the joke on to some friends of mine, they do not know the circumstances of my son's passing, normaly if something is posted that I feel uncomfortable I just let it go with out comment. I would be one of the last to try and censor posting's to ANY fourm. This fourm is great and we seem to have a good bunch here. Jim
