S&S Knuckleheads

I ran across this article where S&S bought a company called Flathead Power in 2007. FP makes replica parts for Knuckleheads and Flatheads. They are to offer entire engines soon. Anybody heard anything about them? Here's their website: http://flatheadpower.net/.

Hey Rick, FP was THE premier flathead and knucklehead parts maker in Europe and probably the world at one time. S&S made them an offer for their designs and tooling then started to put the new knucks into production. From what I've read on them so far they are great motors, not that S&S in to be doubted, and have some balls.

There was a great article in The Horse Backstreet Choppers about the acquisition of Flathead Power and S&S's plans to introduce the knuck back to the world.

Now, if only I could get my hands on one for less than expensive. My fingers are crossed.

I was talking briefly to an S&S rep at Daytona about them and it did not sound like they were going to be inexpensive (I believe he mentioned the $7500 range).

Somewhere in that area. Which is to say nowhere near the ballpark I am looking for. Oh well, a man can dream.

Just like china and furniture... antique reproductions bring big money. I wonder if they're building the inherent knucklehead issues into them?

The way the article was written (January '08 The Horse) It sounds like Flathead Power had worked out a lot of the inherent bugs and that S&S worked a little further to make them more reliable.

Of course words are words and I'll wait to at least see one in person and ask the owner what they think of it before I venture any guess to reliability of my own.

Actually, I like the S&S Shovelhead better (and it's got a proven track record).
