I took the State Sponsored/Recommended one that ya do for a weekend and you get your endorsement. You take their test on their bikes. It's much easier then the DOT course on your own 9 foot long Harley.

Motorcycle Safety course here and it was one of the better things I've done in my life. I ride with a greater chance of riding again tomorrow! If you know what I mean!

I agree. I took the beginners course years ago and have taken the advanced riders course twice over the past few years. It may help you live longer.

Like 1991 or 92 for me. but it was still worth it. I find myself still doing search and seek exercises when riding.

Not only have I taken a motorcycle safety course, I TEACH Rider's Edge which is Harley's safety course. I think everyone should take a safety course no matter how long they've been riding. You can always learn something new to help make your ride safer.

I think everyone who decides to own a bike should take the MSF class. Not only did it help me riding my bike, but I honestly believe it made me a better, more defensive, driver in the cage too.

I'd been out of the game for a few years, and needed to have my "mental bike bolts" tightened up a bit. I found the state safety course well worth the time and money. New rider, old rider, or just plain rider, a safety course is worth your time and coin I.M.H.O..

I took the weekend course. It was a bit overwhelming for me and I didn't go back after the first day. I think I got the most out of it however, at least being there for the first evening and full day. I know what is expected of me, now all I have to do is practice. This is only my personal opinion of my class, but I wasn't overly impressed. The classroom intructor was very cocky and one of the range intructors must have been awol from the army. The class is helpful but nothing takes the place of real on road experience...I'm not talking about going out in traffic right off...just putzing around on less populated neighborhood streets. To make my long story even longer...I highly recommend the class to beginner riders. Hopefully you'll get better instructors than I had lol.

I tried to strike a cross promotion thing with the local folks, I experienced the same thing, poor personalities. They know everything.

The quality has gone down apparently, you are not the first to be unhappy.

I just took the advanced MSF course here in PA- thought it was excellent. Learned alot about the mechanics of what to do and what not to do on a bike. How to properly stop on a curve.

Best thing was how to make those slow uturns and corners. Natural tendency is to look down, if you look in the direction you want to go and just apply pressure on the outside footpeg its amazing how much easier it is.

I recommend it to anyone who rides....

I agree, I learned alot.

I think the negetive comments are for personabilty of the instructors. My experience was good, however 13 years ago.
