For all those involved with putting together the March 5 run for Ted Kahsula and all those who rode the poker run, let us say thanks to The Bad Apple Band. Chad, Steve, Bob, Roger, thank you so much. You guys sounded great, you interacted with the crowd, you partied hard with all of us and you rocked all the way. The band was not supposed to perform until 6:00pm, the riders came in a little early (4:30pm) and the band was prepared. After a quick setup and a quick tune up the boys were rocking by 4:00pm. As the riders hit the gate the band was already playing. The Bad Apple Band was prepared. They knew that by the time the bikes rollled in they would want to hear some good old rock and roll and start partying. The band started playing all the great classics as the wind began to pick up. The weather was great, a little chilly for Florida, this time of year, and a little too much wind. The band knew they were there for the long run and said to hell with the wind and cold and rocked from 4:00pm until 10:00pm. With only two breaks between sets they rocked until it hit a brisk 45 degrees. They played classics that many other bands do not even dare attempt to play. "Mississippi Queen" began and I thought I was listening to Leslie West and Mountain. I Have not heard the song played so well by any band other than Mountain itself. The crowd partied hard, tha band partied harder and never missed a lick.
I asked the band to perform for us and asked how much they would charge.. Told them all the proceeds for their performance as well as all the proceeds for the run would go to Ted's son and every member of the band said they would gladly play for us at no charge because they knew they were helping benefit a great young man. When the Bad Apple Band hit the last set I told them the donation jar sitting on their stage belonged to them, I was very quickly set straight by every member of the band as they, in harmony, said they were playing for Wes and they were plyaing for Wes and Ted and all the proceeds in that jar belonged to Wes. They reminded me very quickly that they were there to entertain and have a good time as well as make sure everyone in the party had a great time and donated all of their proceeds to the Ted Kashula Fund for Wes. This is a great band, they rocked and rocked hard and made sure they had as much fun as the crow watching them.
Bad Apple Band, Chad, Steve, Bob, Roger, we love you guys and appreciate everything you did for us last night and we want to party with you whenever we get the chance. I will be there to watch you on stage next weekend when YOu play Uncle Tom's. I don't think any audience could appreciate what you did last night any mor than the crow you performed for. Once again thanks. I want to plug your website.
