All of the soldiers of the 351st Military Police Company based in Ocala returned home safely to a warm welcome on Monday, November 23, 2009, after being deployed in Iraq for 10 months. The welcome home honoring the soldiers of the 351st took place at Veterans Memorial Park in Ocala.
Dignitaries from the City of Ocala, Marion County and Congress gave welcome home speeches to the soldiers thanking them for their service. Families and friends of the soldiers lined the streets and filled the arena to help with the welcome home along with many other veterans who were eager to see their returning family members, friends, brothers and sisters of the 351st.
Motorcyclists from the U.S. Military Vets assisted at the Veterans Memorial Park with the raising of flags, a welcome line and the unveiling of a memorial at the park for the soldiers of the 351st. The U.S. Military Vets were assisted by riders from the American Legion Riders.
