    Metric Cruisers

I'm looking to customize my Vstar 650 Classic, but I was asked was it a "metric cruiser" ??

So I'm passing the question along, is it a metric cruiser ?

A "crusier" is any cruiser style motorcycle that mimics classic H/D or Indian styling. A metric bike is any bike that uses metric thread (non-U.S.A.) nuts, bolts, and components. All Japanese made motorcycles are metric bikes. Most U.S.A built bikes do NOT use any (or very few) metric components.
I'm not familiar with the V-Star, but since most V style engines are a Harley copy, your bike might very well be a metric cruiser. Can you post a photo for us?

    I hope that helps.
Every part requiring adjustment or replacement, is located right behind the part that won't come off.

We just bought an '05 650 V-Star Classic for my G/F last month. Yes it is a "Metric Cruiser" Low Rider, Leather Bags, Studded seat and windsheild.

When you go to get an oil filter for it, check which one you have, The 650 family came with either a spin on or a cartridge. Yours is probably the same as ours, a cartridge type and is on the right side inside the side cover.

    Riceburner

I sent a friend an email photo of me on my new ( to me)
Honda CX500. He callled me and said " looks like you got
yourself a rice burner". Never heard that term used to describe a Japanese bike. Larry

Hehe, get used to it. Just take it on the chin in fun.

Yeah, you own a rice burning metric cruiser. Any Japansese made cruiser I think is considered a metric cruiser. But hey, who cares? If you enjoyed working on your bike more than riding it, you would have bought a HARLEY!!!!
