It’s not like June came and went and I was under a rock, but I started out early in month taking some time for me to just ride, took a break from that to do a cub scout thing, then in the end just stayed close to home doing stuff.
The early rides I took were not to planned biker events, but performances by bands in places where bikers frequent. I spent some afternoon time at Fox Crossing where the Still Willis Band performed and then partied into the night at the County Line Bar where the Stryke Band played.
Still Willis was a band we first saw play over in Lake Panasoffkee at the Law Dogs Wounded Veterans Benefit Weekend in the Dam Pub. This band, and I mean every member of the band, are top notch musicians. If you like Blues and Classic Rock, this is a band you should go see.
I spent some time with Charlie McGraw from WIND-FM and Judy. You can catch what’s happening in and around North Central Florida on Charlies blog over at WIND-FM. The Chrome Divas were at the Fox Crossing too and as always a pleasure to visit with.
Over at the County Line I ran into the Stryke Band. This band is rock and roll and gives off all the energy needed to support a rock performance. The music they cover is played on the money and it’s not just music, there is a lot going on up on the stage. You’ll find it hard to not get up and dance with Stryke Band.
Tugs was at the BitterWheat Benefit at the Red House in Leesburg. Perhaps we can get some photos out of them too? Check the thread about the benefit for Tugs' wrap up comments.
So the next weekend brings us to July and there are a few things going on over the next two weeks or so you might want to check out.
- Diane’s Shower at the County Line Friday June 29, 2007
- Poker Run for Zoie Thompson at Gibson Customs July 1, 2007
- Diane and Rick’s Wedding July 7th, 2007 near the County Line Bar
- Terri and James (Cheese) Benefit Party at the County Line Bar July 14, 2007
The info for Diane’s Shower and her wedding to Rick should be available at the County Line Bar. It’s an open party and Rick asked me to post about it, but I don’t have the exact address of the party.
Terri and James’s Benefit Party will start at 2PM.
The Poker Run For Zoie Thompson will start at 9:00 AM at Gibson Customs just before the Harley shop on 441 and ends at Makos on SR200 where a live band will start at 1:00PM. The stops along the run will be Georges Restaurant, Cactus Jacks and the Baseline Bar and Grill. Poker hands are $10.00 and two for $15.00. There will be 50/50s and auctions. A blood mobile will be on site for those that can and want to donate blood. Please come out and ride this Sunday and help build Zoie a new home.
Have a happy and safe 4th of July.
