    Central Florida Biker Rallies Nov. 2 to 4 2007

    The Annual Chile Challenge at Roscoe's in Lakeland will be held for the 22nd time this weekend and as always, this one is will be fun. The main event is the Chili Challenge with a prize purse of $1000.00 and trophies. Sign up for the Chili Challenge begins at 10 AM Saturday November 2, 2007. During the Challenge there will be free Chili available to the attendees.

    While the Chili is cooking, you can check out the Custom Chopper and Bike Show, bike games, arm wrestling, a wet tee shirt contest, and listen to live music. Vendors will be on hand.

    Roscoe's Chile Challenge is an adult only event. Tickets are $40.00 for the weekend and $30.00 for Saturday only. Gates open on Friday at 8 AM. It's okay to bring a cooler, but no glass. For more info call 863-858-6249.

    Ocala will be the scene for the 4th Annual Hospice of Marion County Steel Horse Stampede Motorcycle Run sponsored by Dixie Biker Illustrated. Proceeds to benefit Hospice of Marion County, Inc. Patient Care Program.

    Riding through the beautiful Marion County area the run will be stopping at four featured Hospice Houses. The run will be escorted by the Marion County Sheriff and Police Departments and is about 55 miles long. There will be door prizes, 50/50 raffles and live music performed by The Nightshift Band.

    Registration begins at 8 AM, first bike out by 10 AM from Hospice of Marion County Education Center, 3231 SW 34th Avenue, Ocala, Florida. Fees are $25.00 for one rider and $10.00 for a second rider. The price includes lunch by Tommy's BBQ.

    Out in Lake Panasoffkee on Saturday Lorenzo's, the place with the Tiki Hut at the Chevron Station, will hold a Bikes and Body Halloween Contest starting at 6 PM. Come dressed in your best costume and or dress up your bike. There's no entry fee, but there is a $100.00 prize for the winner of the contest! For more info call 352-793-1691.

    Ride out to Brooksville on Saturday for the Salute to our Veterans Back Roads Rally from Freedom Chapter, ABATE. You can sign up at the Marine Corps League, 5210 Sunshine Grove Road from 8:30 AM to 10 AM. The ride will cover 100 miles of scenic country roads and include a visit to the National Cemetery in Bushnell. There will be a dinner at the end of the run for $7.00 per plate.     KIDS Inc. of Lake County Foster/Adoptive Parent Association Final Week of Community-Wide Drive to Collect Diapers, Pull-ups and New Underwear for Children in foster care. Diapers or Undies October.

    The second annual event to help KIDS Inc. of Lake County to mobilize the community in collecting baby wipes, diapers, pull-ups, depends, and brand new underwear for children in the foster care system. “Diapers or Undies October” will begin Sunday, October 1, through Saturday, November 3, 2007.

    The event will help KIDS Inc. of Lake County accumulate an inventory of baby wipes, diapers, pull-ups, depends and new underwear for boys and girls— these items there are never enough of—to meet the needs of foster families.
    Individuals can make a donation of diapers, pull-ups or underwear at Curves Centers in the Lake County. Pinch-A-Penny, and Alterra Sterling House.
