"What does it mean to you? For me, it's something I just do."
We just got our first snow/ ice storm of the season, so it's hard to even think about riding right now. Aside from daily riding to work, etc. during the summer, I guess the last real ride with a purpose was to Port Dover, Ontario, Friday Aug. 13th. There was a record turnout in spite of the fact that it was a cool, rainy day. They close the town off to car traffic for that day, and at one point they even had to stop bikes from coming in for a while because it was too crowded. I'm looking out at my white yard right now thinking about next year.
Don't miss the snow at all! I lived in Juneau, Alaska in the 70's and then Madison, Ct. till 76'. I'm in Houston now, since 76' and we ride almost all year round. It's 28 degrees outside right now, believe it or not. I ride to work every day. We try to make it to the Texas Hill Country a couple times a year. We go to the Smokie Mountains every spring.![]()

50+ smeg? Hell that's t-shirt weather around here. I'd kill for that right now!
Rode to work yesterday, usually car pool, because I planned to take an hour or two off early. It was 5 in the morning, 51 degress, and cloudy on the 20 mile ride in. Rained before lunch and again just before I decided to take my hours and go! The ride home was without a drop of rain but I did have some strong gusty winds to play in!
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and I hope we all have a Happy New! May it be a safe, properous, healthy, and happy 2005 for us all!
Ride Safe! Ride Long!
