Two more local motorcycle riders lost

Last night on my way home from a visit to the beach with my kids I had an uneventful ride until we got near the house at CR25 and HWY42. Upon hitting the intersection I saw some folks I know and too much crime scene tape. I knew it was a motorcyclist in my gut. But I kept quiet not to upset the kids or get them looking too close.

So, long story short, the details I have is two motorcyclists were heading north on CR25. They hit the curve and bumped into each other causing them to both wreck. Neither was wearing a helmet. Both are deceased. A sad ending to what was likely began a fun motorcycle ride for them.

Please be careful out there folks. I'm really sick and tired of hearing about rights. Rights are of no value to a dead man. Please choose wisely. Anything can go wrong at anytime, but let's try and plan as best we can to be prepared and stay alive.

Live to ride, ride to live. There's a meaning there that is very deep. Think about it.

News link: Two motorcyclists killed in accident on CR 25

The accident occurred just north of the County Line Bar just at or before the CR25 and HWY42 intersection from the looks at the scene and the news article. I don't recognize the names, but I fear that I will find I have lost someone I was at least acquainted with. At the least, we all lost another pair of riding brothers as did their families. God bless.

UPDATE:

I've read that the two men were Dave and Rocky from KSC Cycles in on CR25 in Belleview. Those folks were usually out supporting benefits for other local motorcycle riders that were in need. A huge loss the the community. So sad.

Sorry to hear about this tragedy. There have been way too many of Our Brothers Of The Wind going down lately. I am sorry for their loss and for the losses to all of their family and friends.

There has been at least one motorcycle accident each and every day in my area for the past two weeks. 50% of those have been fatal. Only one of those was not wearing a helmet. Whether or not you decide to exercise your rights to go helmetless, please be careful. I live in a helmet choice state, and I still wear a helmet on every ride.

Yes, there will be a run Sunday on short notice. I will post the details soon.

I was out to visit the crash site and have found that Dave was engaged to be married and that he has just asked Windburn to be his best man. I'm also told that Dave did not work for KSC.

The details of the incident are not what I wanted to hear. It's too sad. Needless to say, it was a very solemn trip out.

The only details I have on the run are that it will be Sunday, August 10, 2008, and end at the County Line Bar in Weirsdale. A Celebration of the Life of Rocky.
