 Eric, this book is the BEST in its CLASS! A+++ (your art, too, lol)
First, I need a pic of me on MY Harley, to do the painting on the cover!!! LOL
Seriously? I've read lots of boks on how to draw and paint many things... bikes being one of my faves to ride (when not creating art or taking photographs), this is a perfect book for any enthusiast trying to emulate the great work of Eric Hermann... His work is amazing, his views are those only a motorcyclist (and sorry, not a type other than a harley or chopper rider) would really enjoy...
I'd love to be painted into one of HIS paintings, but alas? Don't know him, and unless he looks me up on facebook, yahoo or myspace (hint hint), and sees how hot my bike is (and it hasn't been updated to show the new rake, 19" chrome wheels on front and the 150 on back, new rake, etc.,) he just won't know what he's missing...lol

Anyway... I oughtta start a list of great biker books, but as for art? This is one of my faves, being an artist myself...

p.s.If you see a bike morphed from a Heritage Softail Classic, with Roadking Hardbags flying down a CA backroad, we call her the "SoftKing RoadTail"... she doesn't know what she wants to be when she grows up... right now, she's got demon-blue ghost flames, a lotta bling (hey, I'm a chick), and a gal who's perpetually young, smiling from ear to ear... bugs n all! Helmet matches the paint... Honk the horn, you'll get a happy wave back! Who says Gals over 40 can't learn something new!

This book is a personal accounting of the art of painting bikes by one of the world's top motorcycle fine artists. It's great if you're a motorcyle enthusiast or an artist looking for inspiration.
There are no magical step-by-step how to lists in this book. If you're looking for a more instructional piece, this isn't that kind of book. However, it covers things in a more general way that leaves approach and specific technique open for the artist to discover and explore on their own, which is the best way.
What it does cover is the overall planning and preparation process for several paintings, as well as some information on reproduction. It's also a book that you can return to over time and continue to get good stuff out of, whether you're looking to enjoy some good reading or incorporate new ideas into your own artistic process.
