FXR Low Rider

  • FXR Low Rider
  • Harley Davidson motorcycle model
  • motorcycle style where the rear shocks are shortened and the saddle lowered

The Harley Davidson FXR Low Rider designed by Willie G. Davidson was first introduced in 1977, it was unvailed at Daytona Bikeweek as the FXS. The FXR designation was given to the low rider with the introduction of the rubber mounted motor in the 1980's. The 1990's saw the low rider take a major change in design with the new computer designed dyna chassis. This was not the best direction for the low rider to go because the frame was weakened in the redesign and a powerful motor could brake the primary cases. This issue was addressed by aftermarket parts manufacturers by inventing a brace to secure the transmission and the motor preventing the primary from breaking due to twisting.
