What's the most miles you ever did on one trip?

I did a trip from Central Florida to the Poconos to see the Pocono 500 in 1993. Fell short of Laconia due to time.

We did it on an ironhead sportster. There were two of us and all of our gear on the bike. We did about 2400 miles and change.

So far the longest single destination trip I've done is just over 1500 miles in two and a half days. I'll beat that this summer by almost double. I'm riding from northwest Iowa to Dothan, Alabama and back in seven days.

The most miles Iíve ridden in one trip is 11,000. Rode to Alaska in 01, was gone five weeks. Earlier that year, rode to Daytona and Key West, 4,000 miles.
The second longest was in 03, rode with the Run For The Wall from LA to DC, 6,400 miles round trip, gone three weeks.

The longest day I've done is from St. Nazaire in France to Tamworth in the UK (600 miles) but that did include a 6 hour ferry crossing!

In the UK the longest days could be the trips we make from Tamworth to Whitby and back again just for breakfast (300 miles)

The longest trip I've been on must be the 10 days and over 3000 mile I spent exploring France and Italy in 1999.

Hi-lights of the trip include attempting to find the Ducati factory in Bologna (and never quite making it) and one of my friends braking down numerous times.

I keep write ups of our trip if anyone is interested - check out the 'Bike Rides' section of my website.

Sounds like you need to start up a ďlunch bunchĒ in your area. We have just an e-mail list of interested people for the lunch bunch. Each Wednesday, weather permitting, we ride anywhere from 50 to 500 miles for lunch. Choose your own route to get there. Each week, itís in a different little town, mostly in Kansas. We just meet and eat. One of the regular guys rides from Tulsa, usually on a BSA.

I think it's gonna be hard to beat Allan's mileage! I rode to Colorado from S.E. Houston in 1999. Rode around for 8 days, then rode back. I think it was about 3000 miles all totalled. Great trip! I guess we got old. Now we trailer to N. Carolina every year and ride the Smokie Mnt.s for a week, then slink back to Texas with our trailers.. Don't tell anybody! :signexcu:
